The classic savoury snack food. These are so addictive, great to have with a few cold beers on a hot summer Christmas holiday afternoon. 

Cooking Style: Camp Oven

Cooking Time: 15 minutes


6 cups (about 500g) Nutri Grain Breakfast cereal
2 sachets cream of chicken soup mix
1 sachet French onion soup mix
1 heaped tablespoon curry powder
2 teaspoons mustard powder
375g pack mixed nuts
2/3 cup warm vegetable oil
few handfuls sultanas (optional)


  1. Pre-heat a large camp oven lined with baking paper to roughly 180 degrees.
  2. Mix all ingredients together well in a bowl (except sultanas).
  3. Add a nice even layer of mixture into the bottom of camp oven and bake with top and bottom heat for 15 mins or until lightly toasted and crispy, stirring once halfway through. Remove when cooked and continue to cook the rest of the mixture in batches. Allow to cool before eating, If adding sultanas add once cooled. Store in an airtight container.
TIP: nuts and bolts make good Christmas presents for those hard to buy for people. Just put into a nice glass jar and decorate.
