Do you love Golden syrup dumplings? This is a bit of a modern twist on the old classic. Not only tastes amazing but it's really easy to do on the Opzig.
Cooking Style: Camp Oven
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
1.5 cups Self Raising flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Salted Caramel sauce-
2 cups water
1.5 cups brown sugar
1.2 teaspoon salt
- In a saucepan or camp oven, add all salted caramel sauce ingredients. Slowly bring to a simmer and stir until sugar dissolves. Taste and adjust salt to suit your own tastes.
- While the sauce is coming to a simmer, in a bowl, mix flour and salt, sugar together then rub through 30g butter until all is combined. Add vanilla and enough milk to make a slightly wet damper mix. Roll into little balls then add to simmering sauce.
- Pop lid on and allow to simmer gently (heat diffuser is handy) for 20 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or custard.
